Welcome Message from the President POGI

The 28th Annual Scientific Meeting of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Banten 2026

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

Dear esteemed professors, esteemed doctors, and dear colleagues,

It is with great honor that We welcome each of you to the 28th Annual Scientific Meeting (PIT) of the Indonesian Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology (POGI), hosted this year in the stunning Province of Banten.

This prestigious meeting serves as a vital platform for the exchange of knowledge, the fostering of professional collaboration, and the exploration of cutting-edge developments in the fields of obstetrics and gynecology. Each year, we gather with a shared commitment to advancing women’s health across Indonesia through rigorous scientific inquiry, ethical practice, and innovative solutions.

This year’s theme, “Integrating Innovation and Equity: Advancing Women’s Health in the Era of Artificial Intelligence,” aptly reflects the dual imperative of embracing technological advancements while ensuring equitable access to healthcare for all. The rapid developments in artificial intelligence present remarkable opportunities for early detection and effective management of various health conditions. However, we must remain vigilant and proactive in ensuring that these benefits are equitably distributed, reaching all sectors of our society and eliminating any existing disparities.

In our pursuit of women’s health, we confront several significant challenges, including the persistent presence of non-obstetric comorbidities and our concerted efforts to eradicate cervical cancer. Tackling these issues demands evidence-based strategies that are informed by innovation and bolstered through interdisciplinary collaboration. It is only through our combined efforts that we can overcome these obstacles and improve health outcomes for women across our nation.

I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the organizing committee for their tireless dedication and hard work in curating a scientific program that is both pertinent and visionary. POGI remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance women’s health and strengthen our medical profession as a whole.

As we embark on this gathering of minds and hearts, I wish each participant a fruitful and enlightening experience. My sincere gratitude goes out to everyone who has played a role in making this event a resounding success.

Thank you.

Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

Welcome Message from the Chairman of POGI Banten

This trust is an extraordinary responsibility for us, and we are fully committed to delivering the best possible organization

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,
Warm greetings to us all,
Om Swastiastu,
Namo Buddhaya,
Salam Kebajikan.

Distinguished guests whom I highly respect:

The President of POGI, Professors, Doctors, senior colleagues, and fellow Specialists in Obstetrics and Gynecology throughout Indonesia;

Esteemed participants of the 28th Annual Scientific Meeting (PIT) of POGI in 2026.

On behalf of the Banten Branch of POGI, allow me to express our deepest pride and highest honor that in 2026, Banten has been entrusted to host the 28th POGI Annual Scientific Meeting. This trust is an extraordinary responsibility for us, and we are fully committed to delivering the best possible organization to support the advancement of obstetrics and gynecology in Indonesia.

The grand theme of this year’s meeting, “Integrating Innovation and Equity: Advancing Women’s Health in the Era of Artificial Intelligence,” is highly relevant to the challenges of our time. We are entering a new era in which artificial intelligence, big data, and digital innovation are no longer merely concepts, but have become essential tools in improving the quality of women’s health care.

However, innovation will only be meaningful if it can be accessed equitably by all Indonesian women, without exception. Therefore, the integration of innovation and equity serves as a fundamental pillar for our progress.

This year, we highlight two important issues as the main focus of PIT 28 POGI:

First, “The impact of non-obstetric comorbid diseases on women’s health and pregnancy.” We recognize that an increasing number of pregnant women are living with comorbidities conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, thyroid disorders, and autoimmune diseases. These challenges require a multidisciplinary approach, the utilization of more advanced diagnostic technologies, and adaptive updates to clinical guidelines. Through AI-based innovations, we hope to enhance early detection and deliver more targeted management, ultimately saving more mothers and infants.

Second, “Accelerating efforts toward the elimination of cervical cancer in Indonesia.” Cervical cancer remains one of the leading causes of death among Indonesian women. Yet today, we stand at a historic moment—where vaccination, HPV DNA–based screening, and artificial intelligence–assisted tools can significantly accelerate our path toward cervical cancer eradication. POGI must take the lead in advocacy, education, and implementation across every corner of the country.

Through PIT 28, we hope that Banten will become a birthplace for new ideas, new collaborations, and scientific breakthroughs that will strengthen our collective efforts to improve the health status of Indonesian women.

Our sincere appreciation goes to the POGI Central Board, the national and local organizing committees, sponsors, educational institutions, hospitals, and all parties who have worked tirelessly to ensure the success of this event. May our togetherness yield broad and lasting benefits for society.

In closing, I wish you a successful and enriching participation in the 28th POGI Annual Scientific Meeting. May this event provide inspiration, knowledge, and renewed spirit for us all.

Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.
Thank you.

Chairman’s Welcome Message

Integrating Innovation and Equity: Advancing Women's Health in the Era of Artificial Intelligence.

Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh,

Salam sejahtera (Greetings of peace) to all of us,

Om Swastiastu,

Namo Buddhaya,

Salam Kebajikan (Greetings of Virtue).

Esteemed professors, seniors, fellow specialists in obstetrics and gynecology, participants, and distinguished guests.

We offer our deepest gratitude to Allah SWT, God Almighty, for His grace and blessings that have allowed us to gather for The 28th Annual Scientific Meeting of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Banten 2026 with a shared spirit: to enhance the quality of women’s healthcare services in Indonesia.

Our main theme this year is “Integrating Innovation and Equity: Advancing Women’s Health in the Era of Artificial Intelligence.” This theme stems from the realization that every aspect of life in this world will face significant challenges from the advancement of artificial intelligence, and the field of obstetrics and gynecology is also at a major transition point.

We are witnessing the presence of artificial intelligence in obstetric imaging, big data for predicting pregnancy complications, telemedicine that opens access to services even in remote areas, and even wireless robotic surgery where the boundaries between the operator and the patient are non-existent. All of this offers extraordinary opportunities, but simultaneously gives rise to new challenges: access disparities, the ethics of data usage, and the need to enhance the competency of us as professional personnel.

Behind all the existing technological sophistication, we are still faced with classic, unresolved issues: the still-high maternal mortality rate, the continuing dominance of cervical cancer cases, and the increasingly complex reproductive health problems of adolescents.

Therefore, through this scientific forum, we will not only discuss how technology can assist our work, but also how we, as a medical community, ensure that these innovations can reach all levels of society fairly, safely, and ethically.
As a step towards solutions, let us:

  1. Enhance cross-disciplinary collaboration – among doctors, researchers, government, and the technology industry.
  2. Optimize continuous training.
  3. Strengthen empathy and the human touch to address the ethical and patient data security challenges amidst the use of digital technology.
  4. Fight for equitable access so that women from Sabang to Merauke can feel the benefits of technological advancements in the health sector.
  5. Integrate innovation wisely, ensuring that technology is not only sophisticated, but also safe, ethical, and tailored to the needs of our patients.

My hope is that this Annual Scientific Meeting will become a space for sharing knowledge, building networks, and igniting the spirit of change. Let us welcome the future of women’s health in Indonesia with optimism, professionalism, and a strong commitment to widespread innovation for all.

Finally, I would like to thank all parties for their attendance and participation in supporting the realization of this event.

May Allah SWT bless our joint efforts.

Wassalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

Salam sejahtera (Greetings of peace) to all of us.
